The order of the letters and syllables is that adopted by the late Dr. Brugsch and M. Pierret for the values of the latter the reader is referred to the grammars and sign-lists. My thanks are due to Mr. Holzhausen of Vienna for the care which he has taken in printing the long series of hieroglyphic texts and this Vocabulary.
